On March 13, 2005 in a pool side ceremony at Short Course JOs in Bakersfield, CCS awarded the Fran Porter Lifetime Achievement award to the third recipient. He has contributed uncounted hours as an official and by holding many offices and chairs for CCS. Among the various positions he has held, he has been the Adminisistrative Vice-Chairman, the Records/Top 16 Chairman, Officials Chairman and the Awards Chairman. On July 19, 2014 in a pool side ceremony at Long Course JOs held at Clovis West High School, CCS awarded the Fran Porter Lifetime Achievement award to the fourth recipient and first coach to receive this award. He has been involved with swimming virtually his entire life as an athlete at the University of New Mexico, as a coach and mentor, and as a volunteer. He has been involved with CCS for more than 30 years as a club representative to the CCS House of Delegates and as an officer holding multiple positions.
