2010 CCS Time Standards

CCS age group time standards for 2010 have been updated and posted. CCS adopts the National Age Group Motivational Times as its own. These standards are based on the 2009-2012 Quadrennium. Also CCS has modified the standard Western Zone qualfiying times for its participation rules. This fall, the Western Zone decided to leave the 2009 time standards in place for 2010. And finally the new short and long course JO time standards were published by the Technical Planning Committee early this fall. You can view all of these by selecting the Time Standards option on the Swimmers' Lane drop down menu.

JO time standards will be reviewed annually as CCS tries to attract more swimmers in certain age groups. Technical Planning has developed an apporach to adjust the time standards by looking at the competitive times of the previous few JO meets. In some cases time standards are soften to allow more swimmers to participate. In other cases the time standards may be toughened.

Where standards are being softened, this process may continue over multiple years. Technical Planning has limited the magnitude of the adjustments in any one year so as not to over adjust in a single year. So after every JO meet, the time standards will be reviewed and new standards will be published.
